Brambles Cholderton is located directly next door to the popular Cholderton Rare Breeds Farm in the beautiful Wiltshire countryside near the villages of Amesbury, Tidworth and Bulford.
Our Story
Brambles Cholderton opened in Spring 2021 and is the newest of our four thriving outdoor nursery settings. We are passionate about the outdoors and take our inspiration from a forest school ethos.

At the centre of our setting we we have a pond, bursting with wildlife. We are surrounded by a beautiful variety of large, well-established trees, that offer shelter from the elements and support the wide breadth of learning outdoors, such as the changes of the seasons, colours, shapes and sizes.

Apart from the Cabin which houses the office, the rest of the setting is completely off grid. Water is collected daily to fill our hand washing stations, feed our vegetable patch and for any activities that day. We have a toilet shed which houses two portable camping toilets, a nappy changing and hand washing station. Part of being off grid and environmentally freethinking means that our toilet shed is lit by solar energy.

We also have two lovely yurts within the setting, one being our PLAY yurt filled with open ended, real life objects and resources for the children to explore. The other is our SNUG for our owls to have a quiet space to play, regulation and sleep. Both yurts have log burners for the cooler months.

Our setting here in Cholderton boasts of many different areas for the children to develop both physically and emotionally. There is a mud kitchen (equipped with its own mud pit!) reading area, quiet space, a creative area, mud mountain, bug mansion, loose parts/large construction area, hammocks, swing and vegetable patch. Different provocations (to motivate thinking or investigation) and resources are left out to encourage the children to take their play in any direction they choose.
